That's one theory. Another is that it's launching at $40 to possibly increase sales. I dearly hope it isn't the former.

Yup, that's their official response to the $40 pricetag, that they want to increase their sales.

They also recognize that while well received, the last two iterations of the sly franchise did not sell more than a million (sly 3 on ps2, and hd collection on ps3), and platformers in general don't sell well at full $60 pricepoints (on 360 and ps3).

A lot more people are going to buy Sly 4 at launch now due to it being $40, compared to before.

Platformers doesn't sell anymore except for Mario. Also there's like no hype for the game at all, the game is almost out and it's not even in the top 10 on this board.

It looks good, ill buy once its arround $19. I think lbp sold well and its a plataformer.

yeah i bet little to no replay value no dlc or stuff because its a sony game but yeah it does look good for 20 bucks
