Gamers that play niche japanese games are more intellectual

I know people who play primarily FPS that are more "intellectual" than 90% of this board.

It's likely indirectly true. Finding out about these niche games requires you to research what's out there. Intellectual people are more likely to be interested in learning about the medium as a whole and the types of games produced by different companies, which would lead them to find these games.

Depends on the genre. If we are talking stuff like SHMUPS and fighters, games that require intellect, sure. If we are talking JRPGs. No.

What does that make PC gamers? Every game I have gotten thus far has had to be tweaked, and I have had to do research to get some of them to run on max settings without drops in FPS. By so many peoples logic in here PC gamers are about 100x smarter then both groups. it's also easy to mess something up only to have to spend time on forums figuring out what is causing crashing and all the other good stuff.

This is quite the reassurance topic, a bunch of niche gamers that need some stroking from other niche gamers. You can have uneducated simpletons in both groups, hell in any group for anything there are morons in it. Play what you like and who cares what some random people on the internet prefer to play. If you are a douche bag it doesn't matter what games you prefer to play, still won't make you any less of a douche. lol

Good gameplay can easily salvage a bad story.
Good story can never save bad gameplay.

PC also has loads of niche games and it would be true of them as well. For the games to come from Japan is trivial, it's more about people who seek to learn about games and thus find the games that not everyone knows about.

As for optimizing your PC settings, that's a bit different, but you could probably make an argument that smart people will tend to have PCs that are better optimized.

Sure, there are some people who will buy a niche game simply as an impulse buy or whatever else, but the topic is presumably about general trends, and in general, only those who are willing to put in the time to research and discuss games will be buying those niche games.

My ex-friend had Aspergurs. He as obsessed with JRPGs and Sony. He generalized practically everything.

He was thick headed and not what I'd call an intellectual.
