I wonder what will happen to the stick of truth? Is it cancelled? Or will someone else pick it up?

It's still going to be coming out, I wouldn't be surprised if it is delayed though. THQ is fighting with South Park studios over the assists right now. THQ says they hold exclusive rights to it so they can sell the IP, South Park studios says otherwise and wants a settlement from the assists or something. In a nut shell THQ and South Park studios are in a pissing match for the rights to the South Park IP.

Actually, South Park Studios are claiming that THQ is in breach of contract and the rights revert to South Park Studios. THQ claims they are not in breach (and are referencing a section that was redacted from the public documents) and that they can sell the distribution rights. I haven't read anything about the court's decision.

I don't really care who buys what, as long as Volition is kept intact.

Who care, it's just a lame American game developer. Nothing to see here. No Mercy was the only good thing they ever made.

I'm confused. Are the assets for sale individually, or as one large lump? The link made it seem like bidders have to buy all or nothing.

individually

I think Sony is better off buying the IP's that the other studios may be willing to not go for.

I know it sounds stupid, but adding something like de Blob to its kid friendly section could be frutiful in the long run (make it digital exclusive or something) and Red Faction could easily be an IP that is given to one of the smaller studios Sony works with... they would all jump at the chance to do something with an IP like that.

THe problem with picking up the more known THQ IP's is that they are going to have to dedicate time and a chosen developer onto it. Unless its the original, the last thing I want is to see someone like Guerilla doing Homefront etc

So... what are the results?

The only THQ property that I care about is WWE. Hopefully it goes to someone who can do a good job.
