It was a pretty empty game. Way overrated

Gotta agree with this. The climbing giants mechanic was brilliant at the time but all that nothing inbetween is awful.

The nothingness is to really sell that feeling of isolation and loneliness. As I said, it's meant to be a somber and depressing experience.

Metroid did a better job at making me feel isolated and still had gameplay.

I thought the story was going to be more "emotional."

Yeah, I admit the game's beauty is very remote. You have to invest in the characters (Wander and Agro, really) through their actions and not anything else. You get very little background on anything, and you never really discover anything about Wander, Mono, or the world they live in.

I think people enjoy it--and I enjoy it, too--because it's so minimalist. We don't necessarily need to know anything more about these characters than what we're given. All we do know is that Wander would do anything to bring that girl back, and that's enough. If you can buy into that type of devotion, whatever his true motives are, you can buy into what happens at the end of the game--to him, her, and everyone else.

But I don't blame you for being disappointed, especially if you were affected by the hype. It's a very understated story, and that's not going to impress everyone.

The emotions were excreted as black mist from giant heads.

That's where I felt the impact, at least. The ending wasn't very good at all.

Its just another ''Art game'' people with poor taste love to over-rate like Journey and Flower.

Pretty much this.

I stopped caring about the colossi after I found out what they were.

Yes. It was never really a feeling of triumph killing any colossus. It was sad., and it got worse with each one you killed.

This was pretty much the point of the whole narrative, as I understand it.

How they're pieces of Dormin? I appreciated them even more for that.
