Is my PS3 broken?

#1OkikurmiPosted 1/23/2013 2:39:48 PM
I was in the middle of a system update when it did the 3 beep thing and decided to turn itself off.

Now it wont turn back on. When i try the green light comes on for a second or 2 and then it does the 3 beep thing again and turns off. I can't even eject the disk inside. This is one of the old fat modles.

It can be fixed but it will eventually break again.

If you can get it fixed I would advise getting all the saves of you're PS3 that you can and put it on another one.

If you don't care about you're saves might as well just buy another one.

Since it did it while you were doing a system update.. well, you don't want to turn anything off while it's accessing its firmware. See if you can reach the recovery menu and restore the file system.

I tell it how I see it. Controversial and I don't care.

Yeah, it's fixable. You can either reball or reflow it.

I have been looking into ways to fix this and so far i have nothing. i can't do the reballing thing myself. And apparently i cant use the hard drive in my PC to get saves off becuase its tied to the ps3 some how.

The only option i can think of it to have sony fix it. But is there any garentee they won't wipe my hard drive or just replace it?
