Games, RPGs in particular, would be a lot better with rap music

Rap.
Music.

Mutually exclusive.

On an aesthetic spectrum, rap is at the lowest end of qualiy, and the people that listen to it regularly lack the maturity to realize it.

One word for you: Ignorant.
While the people the TC named are garbage (they call themselves rappers but it's closer to Hip-hop) there is good rap music.
You need to expand your horizons then you wouldn't say ignorant things like that. Instead of judging a whole genre based on what you hear on the radio why don't you do some research.

Modern rap is largely non-sensical and the beats are often far too simplistic. The era of sample rap at least contained loops of complex grooves. I'm not really fond of an 808, a snap and hi hats cycling through rapid 16th notes. However, there are some instances where rap could work well. It would have to be epic in scale, meaning symphonic

It is an entire industry dominated with mysoginistic, racist, foul-mouthed messages, all put to rhythms and "music" created electronically. There is a dearth of true musicianship, and while I don't need all my music to be Kumbaya, rap is 99% negative. It is for emotionally stunted people. I am not denying that there is an absolute lack of talent, but the genre as a whole is an immature joke when you are actually talking about "music."

The only thing that can even come close to anyone (and I'm talking ANYONE) wanting rap in RPGs is the occasional hip-hop in Persona. Seriously, Mass Destruction is awesome.

As far as what the TC mentioned, god no. I don't care about their actual quality, it has no place in these games. ._.

You still need to expand your horizons. There are many genres of music filled with misogyny and foul language. Rock music is not above such topics and tropes and in fact heavily deals in lyrics that are about misogyny, drug use, violence etc.

Misogynistic:
Nickelback - Shakin' Hands
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
NOFX - Punch Her In the C***

Violent:
Sick Puppies - Going Down
Silverchair - Israel's Son
Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without the E
Disturbed - Get Down With the Sickness
The Misfits - Die, Die My Darling

Foul language:
Korn - Trash
Alanis Morrisette - You Outta Know

And that's just off the top of my head. On the other hand, I can also easily point out hip hop groups with positive messages and live instrumentation

Crown City Rockers:

The Roots:

Brainpower:

With that said, there are plenty of violent, sexist and negative songs in hip hop, just as there are in rock. But that is true of most songs across most genres of music (a song has lyrics, music is instrumentation only, just for your own edification). If you are going to be against violence/sexism/negativity, then don't enforce a double standard. Be honest, or remain silent. But don't be a hypocrite. That's the worst.

"Rap music" is a contradiction in terms. You sing to music, you don't talk to it.

And the only thing that would be enhanced with Rap is ... the landfill, where the CD's and memory chips holding "rap music" get tossed.

As old as it makes me sound when I say it... This. I agree with this man.

No that would be auful, i do not want rap/dubstep in my video games! especially games where it does not fit, a RPG is the last place it would work. Meanwhile games like GTA/Saints Row if rap is in it thats fine, as it is to expected (but regardless please no dubs**t)

Anyway TC a tip for you go buy a used xbot, put some rap albums you like on there, buy some used RPG's, set up you're game and select you're music, easy solution.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

This is the worst idea ever.

RPGs need more of this:
