why do consumer models always get ripped off ....

#1Darkneo20Posted 1/26/2013 6:58:58 PM
developer kits always get double the amount of memory/ram that the consumer models that are sold to us come with .... i am speaking mostly about the playstation 4/orbis here
if the dev kit gets 8gigs of ram why not give the consumer that too instead of 4gigs wouldnt it make for better games and longer shelf lives ?

and sometimes they remove the good plugs and ports on them as well for instance i saw a photo of ps vita dev kit it has a micro usb and a micro hdmi on

devs need more.

It's common sense

even if they need more then why gimp the consumer version down they should be identical and be capable of the same level of performance it would be a win for everyone

They don't need more memory to run the game, they need more to MAKE the game. There's a big difference.

They ~could~ put in more memory and what not, and you and everyone else would be crying about PS4 costing more than 600 dollars. It's either/or guy.

The extra RAM is needed for debugging. It would cost too much to put in consumer models.

i never cry about the price of consoles that i want when i want something i go out and buy it because i can i would be all for fully featured consoles to be sold to consumers

i have the original full backwards compatible 60gig ps3 upgraded with a 320gig hard drive in it now

The reason is because as "consumers" we can't afford much. So we ask the price of these console units to be 200$ or less.

You can't get much if you're not willing to spend some cash. Some people can't get the grasp of this concept. My friends are like this when it comes to Computers.

Pretty much if you're on the other end you need to find a way to make it affordable but provide something that consumers want. Sure $$ over runs logic thoughts but w/e.
