A question about PlayStation Network

#1keyos27Posted 1/26/2013 11:44:50 PM(edited)
So I am going to purchase the new PS 3 White slim which is dangled with a free one-year of PlayStation Network tomorrow. This will be my first time playing any PS 3 games surprisingly. Anyway, my question is "Can you activate your PlayStation Network any time and use it for a year?" Or does it get automatically activated as soon as you turn PS 3 on ?

I'm assuming you mean PS+, because PSN is free to begin with. To answer your question, yes, you can activate it anytime.

Do you mean plus?

The PlayStation Network is always free.

Basic Playstation Network is a free service. Your console comes with one year of Playstation Plus, which you can redeem any time you like. Check the voucher that comes with your system to see if there's an expiry date. If not, then the year of Playstation Plus starts as soon as you enter the code.
Any games which you receive for free as part of PS Plus will only be playable for as a long as you are a PS Plus member. Games which you buy for a discounted price (more than zero dollars) are yours to keep indefinitely.
