The common battles are pretty dull and basic. Boss battles are a ton of fun though. The battle system is really simple, it involves timing more than strategy. It's a lot like Xenoblade except without the sensory overload.

Yes, it's boring if you consider yourself an experienced JRPG player. The common battles are mind-numbingly repetitive, and the bosses, while interesting, aren't rewarding enough. I'm only 4 bosses in, but that's my experience so far.

I consider myself an experienced JRPG(started around 91ish with Dragon Warrior[Quest]) gamer and I still found the bosses to be a blast.

I thought the game seemed quite boring, even after playing the demo. For some reason, I decided to buy it anyway and I'm LOVING it. There is something very addictive and charming about this game that the demo just does not capture.

I kinda want to buy it because of the hype and i havent played a good traditional JRPG in years but every video i watch of it look dull as dirt. Opinions?

I have been turned off by JRPGs for the most part this generation. I like studio Ghibli so I figured this game was worth a shot.

I am hooked, big time. I get a very old school vibe from it, and the story is very well done thus far. The combat is a bit clunky but you actually have to pay attention or you will either end up being defeated, or you will come out of the battle in poor condition and have to waste meds.

There is exploration in towns and on the world map, secret locations, special items, etc. Basically everything you want in a solid JRPG is in this game, at least for me anyways.

Swann:This is the last time.I'm tired of running damage control every time he makes a mess
Campbell:Right. You're the control, and if that fails,I'm the damage

Hmm, weird. I guess I'll just keep playing and see if anything changes.

It's not boring at all. In fact, it's addicting. Can't stop playing.
