Best co-op game for me and my mate

Hes just bought a ps3, we want to play a good co-op game online, but one where the main story can be played as co-op

So dont want side missions like far cry 3, but something where we do the main story together as co-op? I think you used to be able to do this on gears of war but thats obviously xbox

any ideas?

resident evil? so you play the main game as 2 people online with headsets? and its the main story mode? interesting

The split screen in RE5 bugged me. >_>

Correct about RE5, and RE 6. There's also Borderlands 2, and Saints Row The Third.. to name a couple others.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

Playing on the same console you'll have a slight disadvantage, since if the two of you get too far away from each other the screen zooms out (it's a 2d platformer) but the game is FANTASTIC.

when i say no side missions. I just mean i want to play the main game as a co-op (no split screen) just me at my house, him at his. playing the main game (storyline) and not playing side missions related to the main game. Just the main game !!
