Probably by not competing with the iPad at all? I wasn't aware they catered to the same audience.

They both provide entertainment, but an iPad can do so much more than a dedicated games console.

That. People can play Vice City while others are stuck with Vice City and GTAV. Those poor poor non iPad people.
