DO you think the ps4 will have backwards compatibility with the ps3?

If it does it wont be software emulation, it will be hardware.

Expect to pay a healthy amount if they decide to release a BC SKU, similiar to early PS3's.

Ain't happening. nVidia was in the PS3. Unless they add in the PS3 hardware, it will have to be software BC

I doubt it even though I really wish it did, I still use the BC on my PS3. One thing that I would suggest is include hardware BC along with a larger HD for a deluxe version on the console that costs $100 more.

If Sony wants to dominate the console market again, the PS4 will have PS1/PS2/PS3 compatibility, either hardware or software. The units would just fly off the shelves at anything under $500.

Since they removed the cell from the PS4, the only way this is going to happen is with a very expensive PS4 that contains PS3 hardware. Do you really think Sony will do that again with how bad the PS3 sold at the start?

Software emulation. They got 80% software emulation of the PS2 in some of the 80GB fat PS3s, before pulling the plug because they didn't want to sell more PS3s.

@JoveHack
There was still a chip from the ps2 in those systems. From what I remember. Hacked ps3s without bc can only play very few games with the software emulator.
