PS2 emulation surely has to happen with the PS4?

The only thing that could possibly stop it would be pure greed in selling via digital distribution.

I don't care either way. I got two PS2s(a fat and a slim).

However, it would help the PS2 gain some value if you can't play the games anywhere else but the PS2 itself. And if that's the case, maybe I should get another PS2 and keep it in the box.

It's certainly possible. If the specs are to be believed, the GPU is actually better than the one in my PC, and I can run emulated PS2 games at 1080p with 8xAA and 16AF, and still get 60fps for a game that is fully supported by PCSX2.

PS2 compatibility should be easy to emulate, PCs can do this now. As for ps3 compatibility? Well emulating the Cell chip would take some serious hardware.

I love how so many uniformed children automatically create the dichotomy of free features or greed as if there are absolutely no other possibilities.

At this point, I don't even care how they do it as long as it's done somehow. There are some PS2 games I own right now that I would gladly pay $10-15 to download just to avoid the headache of having to plug in my PS2.

@MlREFOX
Yeah, they should release it at $200 with a terabyte hdd, and all games need to be 4k, 60fps, 8xAA or it fails!

There are stores still selling PS2 consoles and games out there.....Amazing I know.

Also about 10 other ways to get access to PS2 games. Like my PS3 which I plays my classic Alpha Anthology on.

If you know what I know you'd better start hunting down those rare PS2 games down now.
