buying 1 games engine to create another game??

lets just say i wanted to use the same engine that Godfather 2 had to make my own game....how would i go about acquiring that engine or software from EA??

most of the time, the engine is licensed. rarely hear of anyone buying an engine. i've read some are free to use, but if you plan to sell a game made from it, you'll have to pay royalties.

go with the source engine. and if valve or its community vote that it is good enough they will sell your game.
