Guess why I won't buy DMC?

Circumstances that justify swearing are very, very rare.

Naw, I'm talkin' 'bout Super Mario Bros. . . . >_>

That movie was damn offensive

First off. . .

. . . Secondly, I'll give you that one. (Walked right into that). That movie was one of the most offensive things I've ever seen.

Regardless, I still stand by my point that DmC went completely over the top and into outer space with offensive materials.

If we follow this road we'll just end up at arguing who is more effective at achieving personal happiness, which always ends at, "it's subjective." The answer to my question wasn't, "it's the latter" -- the two can't be compared in terms of intelligence just based on those things. The point is that we can agree they're both fairly intelligent for devoting some degree of thought to their beliefs and actions. It was you who brought up the intelligence thing, and it's obviously illogical, albeit understandable, to judge someone's intelligence based on how closely their values mirror yours.

In either case, I'm going to buy games that have values that closely mirror my own.

And I completely disagree that swearing is a decision of intelligence in any circumstance.

That's beside the point. I'm going to continue to assert myself wherever pandering to people-who-get-pointlessly-offended-about-stupid-things occurs, just as I would any other issue.

Because for some reason it's more justified now?

I don't think I've ever watched a scene and thought "Boy, that sure could have used more swearing to get its point across" or the inverse, "Boy that swearing sure made that scene stronger."

From what I've seen of DMC, it most certainly didn't make anything stronger.

That's fine. And I'll continue to spend my money on other things besides nonsense that should have taken a better direction.

My point is, it doesn't need justification.

I swear whenever the f*** i want, as a means of exclamation, or just expressing a passionate view. I swear, because I do. There is no justification because it isn't required.

We live in the year two thousand and thirteen. I remember when you couldn't see a boob or hear someone say s*** or a** on TV in the day time.

Days long gone.

Remember when they used to bleep The Rock saying a** on WWE? Then they didn't because it's just more acceptable to use the taboo slang.

If anything, the thing that makes people want to swear, is restricting them from it. Grab someone off here and head to Google chat (or your preferred chat client), and watch the swears.

swearing is still offensive to me. i don't see any reason why anyone 'needs' to swear.

the more often i see someone swear, the more likely for them to my "unintelligible idiots" grouping...... that is, if they aren't able to somehow stay in the more positive light, one way or another. but usually, that's what happens.

there's never any need to swear. one can express anything with normal words.

Some people find judgemental types, far more offensive.

If you lack the intelligence and vocabulary to express yourself properly without swearing, you deserve to be judged.

Only shallow, unsophisticated ppl swear.
