Wait PS3 is not hackable right?

don't post links of how to do it if I am wrong >_>
My friend was arguing it that PS3 is easily hackable as Wii and it can be used to play any pirated games....
I thought Sony patched everything up am I wrong?

It was hacked, it not longer is possible to do those exploits though and hasn't been for quite some time. The only hacked systems that are out there right now, those are it, and they've all been banned from PSN or what not (or the people just never connected to the Internet with them)

I know the Phat system can be hacked, but the second you go sign on to PSN, you will be instantly banned.
Most people hack them for Homebrew, which yes allows you to play pirated games. But it has to be offline, there are no tricks around it.

They most certainly are not all banned. See GTA IV's multiplayer for examples.

You will not be instantly banned if you have a hacked PS3. And it's only an "easy" hack if you are on a lower firmware. Current firmwares are with currently unhackable or you need to solder in a board to downgrade it.

And, sorry, but most people hack for pirated games, not homebrew. Most people don't touch homebrew unless its required to run commercial games.

I think games can be hacked through save modification or game data modification, like how CoD4, W@W and MW2 are hacked. Treyarch added security with Black Ops, so they can be prevented with developer patches.

Any computer is hackable, even gaming consoles. However, of the gaming console, Sony's products have more security than Microsoft and Nintendo to counter the hacks.
