Should I download final fantasy 8 or 9?

Only have time to play one.

8 is in my top 3 personal favorite games of all time, right up there with Resident Evil 2 and KotoR.

9 is my favourite 3D one.
Depends on what you're more familiar to tbh.
For example, if you've played FF7 and it's your favourite, go with 8.
If you've played 4, 5 or 6 and you liked them better, go with 9.
Either way, they're both fantastic. Get them both. :)

I enjoy 8 but if you're short on time and want something familiar to the previous final fantasies, I'd say 9.

I like 8, but many don't like the junction system, draw system, but I like how enemies level up as you do, so it keeps it a challenge most of the game until you mess with the limit break system (which activates based on how much health you have). It has more of a modern theme...with magical monsters.

9 plays easier and has more of a medieval fantasy theme and and plays more like the other final fantasy titles and has a great story.

Just get both since they're on sale and play one for now until you finish it and then start the next one. Both games should be played.

8 is a much more complex and rewarding game in terms of the combat system. 9 takes a much more simplified old school approach with very little customization available. As for the stories, they're both good. 9 is generally considered to have a better supporting cast, but I find the protagonist of 8 to be considerably better than 9.

Basically do you want old school or experimental?

This is the best advice imo.

I would go with FF8 but only if you enjoyed FF7 and FFX

I like 8 a little more than 9 personally, but you should consider getting both since they're great.
