How often do disc and digital games go on sale?

I ask because if the rumors of next gen consoles blocking used games is true, then welp we're screwed. :-(

disc goes on sale more often than digital, and quicker from release date

Not very often, unless the game is performing poorly or has been available for a while. Some retailers have good deals and stuff at times.

But are they new or used games going on sale? The new is what I'm worried about, especially with the used games possibly being blocked being a big deal.

Digital...not very often.
Disc....all the time.

People that think that digital = lower price, are just fooling themselves.

New games go on sale all the ****ing time on Amazon. You're almost an idiot for paying $60 for a game unless it's a game you're so hyped for you can't wait a month or two for it to go on sale.

There was a rumor that the PS3 might block used games so,I wouldn't take these rumors seriously.

On consoles digital games rarely ever have sales, at least not like Steam does it. You might have the ocassional PSN/Arcade title getting a price drop but full fledged retail games don't tend to go anything below what you'd pay in stores.
