Will Sony fix my PS3 if i opened it?

#1Paulf001Posted 2/6/2013 6:47:00 PM
My fat 60gb original model broke. Now I opened it up and took apart the blu ray drive to get Bayonetta out. However I did put everything back together properly. Its long been out of warranty.

I bought a slim to replace it but I am not liking it as much because now I have to get out my PS2 every time I want to play a PS2 game.

If I pay the $129 for Sony to fix it will they still fix it despite me taking it apart to get a game out?

Opening your PS3 voids the warranty, but if you put everything back together properly, they won't know unless you tell them.

There is a warranty seal beneath the first screw you need to remove to open a PS3. They'll know alright.

Not that it matters in this case, because your warranty is void and you'll have to pay the full cost of repair anyway.

They'll accept it but you'll have to pay the $150 to fix it.

Your warranty was voided long time ago, they will fix it as long as you pay for it.
