It's nice that Nintendo stepped up when Sega rejected the idea of funding Bayonetta 2. People who complain about Bayonetta 2 not being on the PlayStation or Xbox platforms need to remember... the game wouldn't exist at all without Nintendo's assistance, really.

I doubt that. Nintendo were just quickest ones to get in there. Plenty of companies would have funded Bayonetta 2.

Nope, Inaba said in an interview that Nintendo was the only offer.

It's a shame this is going to kill Bayonetta. No one is buying it on WiiU.

I'm sure it will sell decent numbers, its not out for a while, by the time it comes out a lot of people will own Wii U's. Nintendo fans also tend to be fans of platinum games(both companies kinda have that game play first philosophy).

It might include Peach skin unlockables. Don't forget that Nintendo fans also tend to be fans of platinum games. Which is why Mad World sold 16 million copies on the Wii.

700,000 copies isn't bad for a 5 hour game. How did anarchy reigns do on the PS3/360 just for comparison?

Just checked 220,000 so far ;-) looks like Nintendo fans are bigger fans than Sony and Microsoft

That game we got about a month ago has probably sold less than Bayonetta.

A lot less, thats the point, you can't compare Madworld/Madworld 2 to Bayonetta. They play completely different, and vary in quality. People bought Monster Hunter Tri on Wii because it reviewed well and Nintendo actually gave it a Marketing budget. Nintendo aren't gonna let Bayonetta 2 release and fall by the wayside the way Sega would have.

Thats not a dig at sega, they just don't have the money to take risks on Platinum Games.

You are the one that brought up these invented Nintendo fans. It was a shame when MH lost more than half of it's fanbase. It'll be interesting to see if Nintendo and Capcom can ever get them back.

I'm just saying if a rushed game thats 5 hours long could sell 700,000 copies. Imagine how much a top quality game like Bayonetta can sell. You were the one saying they didn't exist lol and Monster Hunter Tri only sold 400,000 less than its predecessor (Freedom 2) on Wii, thats a long long way from half. Its also worth noting Monster Hunter is also traditionally a portable game and that Tri outsold Monster Hunter 2 on PS2 by more than double in japan alone.

Tri on 3DS is also outselling the Wii version by double, so you can't really claim that anyone, other than people blinded by fanboyism lost out.
