rwfan2c posted... From: kcypher2000 | #006People will turn to PC which already bans used games Simple, for the same reason people played consoles before gamestop and amazon made the used game market huge. Because some games you can only get on consoles. That won't change. Neither would the fact that consoles are more stable then PC. No it does not matter how powerful your rig is, many games suffer on PC until after several patches and based off of various criteria due to their huge versatility in hardware. Consoles are uniform and usually safer if lacking the potential for higher quality a PC can provide. If this wasn't true then why do digital titles ever come out on console and still sell like crazy. Minecraft for example. You can't trade it in and it was out on PC way before.

Banning used games will destroy the console market within 2 generations. The only competitive edge consoles have over PC gaming are exclusives and the ability to share games. Take one of those away and more people just turn to their PC's or worse their phones. And then we'll all have nothing but Angry Birds to play by 2020. If you really really want to play call of duty or a Bethesda game (or whatever you companyboys like to play all day long) and both consoles and PC's ban used games what are you gonna spend $600 on? An internet box or a PC that's three times as powerful? That said, the fact is a lions share of the console market are there because its plug and play. If you eliminate the consoles edge, they'll turn to another media. --- Wii Number: 2350 5528 3593 6022 PSN ID: docholliday504 Gamertag: docholliday504 Now Playing...Madden 2013, Halo 4, Persona 3

Nice try but PC games have these little things called CD keys and due to piracy you will get jack considering the lack of retailers who actually accept used pc games.

I already have a PC and it won't have all the games i want. I own every console for a reason. I want the GAMES. Unless Nintendo, MS and Sony put all their exclusives on PC then you have no point at all. Btw CoD plays horrible on the PC, hackers and player hosted servers suck. Never see aimbot on xbox live. The consoles edge has never been the used game market, its the convenience. Keep lying to yourself though.

PC games don't have CD Keys because of Used sales though. PC Games also don't sell to the same magnitude as console games...CD Keys can also be reused. --- GamerTag: RaymondMic/OptimusMega PSN: Optimus Mega SteamProfile: Megamatics
From: kcypher2000 | #011 Simple, for the same reason people played consoles before gamestop and amazon made the used game market huge. Because some games you can only get on consoles. That won't change. True, however the amount of Console Exclusive games (Especially with the popularization of services like steam) are getting fewer with each generation. Of all the games i've played recently i can't think of many... if any.. that are not also available for the PC. I still prefer consoles because the games i own have a value. and if i ever decided i wanted to get rid of a game i know i can sell it and make some of the money spent on it back, to put towards another game. This exact point can be compared to Cars. What if all the Car Companies said Okay.. were getting rid of the Used car market. You cannot resell your car. if you want a new car you can come buy one. your car once it drives off the lot has a value of 0 dollars. ^--- thats exactly the same thing. if i bought something (Which to be honest i do buy "Most" of my games new) it is mine to sell as i see fit. Edit: just realized all Nintendo Games are Exclusive to there console.. but i havent played a Nintendo game since the Gamecube. --- XBOX GT & PSN: thetimeofthe9 Currently Playing: Heavy Rain, Assassin's Creed III, Tera

Hahaha this post proves you can't see the market beyond your own narrow view. I own every console and a PC as well. I'm not talking about people who'll probably play games even if they banned used gaming by moving everything back to the arcade. I'm talking about the other 99.5% of the market who aren't up at 6 am arguing on gamefaqs. These people don't give a **** about "exclusives", they don't even know what that word means. If you really think the ability to share games isn't an edge for consoles or that the hardcores can carry the market, then you're so simple it hurts. --- Wii Number: 2350 5528 3593 6022 PSN ID: docholliday504 Gamertag: docholliday504 Now Playing...Madden 2013, Halo 4, Persona 3

megamatics posted... Used games being gone will only have positive effects for the Publisher Side in terms of revenue. . No it won't. Within the current paradigm yes, however in the context of selling s brand new console (in a rabidly inflated stretched out economy) to the masses it won't. I don't ever buy used games but with the current trend of games, being as bad as they have been, that ALONE is reason enough for me not to buy the next. The market is going under without all this about used games, but add limiting factors to that and - PS4 will sell like hot **** on a rainy day. I'm sure they know this. My opinion is as long as PSN continues to be a free service (they aren't dumb after-all) then ps4 will play used games. There is ZERO incentive for Sony or Microsoft to go in that direction. --- Probability of mission hiderance..zero percent

You say you want a games yet ignore the massive amount of PC games including exclusives? You wanna play Mario, Halo, and God of war, fine cough up the more than $1000 dollars it's gonna take you to play those games next gen. The better value is on PC and consoles don't have anything to that point hardware or software wise. A person is completely in control of their experience not the company who's only point is to keep you playing THEIR system, buy holding back the industry with exclusive software and proprietary systems. Now here comes the nonsensical bashing of a rather arbitrary aspect of gaming. If you don't like a particular server, guess what you can do? leave and go to another server, host your own, god forbid you have think outside the box. --- Intel Core i5-3570K | ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE |ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti | G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB | 3TB Seagate Barracuda x2 | 256GB Crucial M4 SSD |
