I can see one thing i wouldn't miss about buying used games.

Getting them home only to find out they don't work. This has happened to me far too many times. Go to Gamestop pick out a game and it turns out to be a shiny drink coaster. Then off to the store again to find a better copy. Oh I'm sorry sir there's no more copies of that. Can i offer you some store credit for a game besides the one you wanted? Uh no thanks.

If PS4 really bans used games maybe it won't be so bad. Trying to get rid of a game you no longer want could be a problem though. Who's gonna buy it off you if used games are banned right? Not sure what side i should be on.

I have never had this happen to me.

I don't buy used games simply because I hardly ever buy games on release day. By the time I get around to most titles, they're in the $20 range anyway. So buying them new just makes more sense.

I bought Mario Kart double dash and there was a chunk missing out the disc edge. Looked like some dog had it in it's mouth. I took the game back and naturally no more copies. Also bought a Gta game last year and my PS2 couldn't even recognize it. The scratches looked like somebody wiped it off with sand paper. Not even kidding.

I look at my stuff before I leave even when it's new.

Gas isn't free and even if it was I'd still look.

Well the GameStop closest to never have that problem. The one where I go to most cause its on the way home from work is known for selling defective used games.

I always look at the discs too. some still wouldn't work even though the scratches on a few didn't seem that bad. I'm actually starting to prefer the digital route since you don't have to worry about it with downloads. Discs are so finicky sometimes.

I've gotten the completely wrong disc on more than one occasion (usually employees missing the tiny "Game of the Year edition" tag or the sequel subtitle). Hell, it's even happened to me with a brand new game (stupid "gutting" practices). So yeah, that's one thing I won't miss in a 100% DD/anti-used future.

If I buy a game and wind up not liking it, I put it in a shrine of bad games that I look at every day so I can feel disgrace at buying such a bad game.
