As I thought, no real reason to hate it.

First of all, it isn't scary.

Second of all, it is too actiony. I hate the jumping mechanic and the melee mechanic. This is supposed to be RE, not crap.

Thirdly, the shooting feels loose and not satisfying. In RE5, if you shot a zombie in the leg, he would grab it in pain. If you shot him in the face, he would scream and keel backwards. Nothing like that in RE6, zombies do whatever they want and melees aren't as satisfying since you can do them whenever the heck you want.

You are supposed to hate it because its nothing like RE4.

Just like people are supposed to hate Devil May Cry reboot because its nothing like DMC4.

Just like you are supposed to hate Castlevania: LoS because its nothing like Castlevania: SotN.

Just like you are supposed to hate Dead Space 3 because it's slightly different than DS1.

And FUTURE WARNING !........
When the Tomb Raider reboot comes out....you will be expected to HATE it because its nothing like previous Tomb Raider games. (namely, 1,2, & 3)

I have played RE6

This is why it's worse than previous entries:

Crappy Story - Yeah RE never had a brilliant story but this was easily one of the worst, what was the real goal of the villains? Not to mention a terrible ending.

Horrible Characters - I like Leon, Chris, Piers and Sherry, all the others are forgettable, especially the villains.

Too much QTE - Almost every single gameplay element seems to revolve around QTE's, too much stick wiggling/button mashing, RE4 has the perfect balance of QTE's.

Heavily Action/TPS Based - What's with the car chases and cinematic/movie like set pieces? This isn't Uncharted, which pulls off these elements very well, instead we get thoughtlass mashed together action sequences that would be expected from a full on Action Adventure game.

Watered down Upgrade System - No weapon upgrading? No item storage? no buying any new items? instead we get a very dumbed down, bare bones skill point system which doesn't effect gameplay that much.

There is a reason why reviews destroyed it and it sold worse, the game sucks and is a huge let down.

1. subjective. RE4 and 5 were piss poor as HORROR games too and even the older games were hit and miss with the scare tactics.

2. so being action heavy(just like RE4/5) and having a jump mechanic and melee automatically makes it crap? So then RE4/5 were crap too since they had all of those as well(of course its melee isnt as indepth. if something is better and more fleshed out then its obviously crap, right?)

3. They behave just like they did in past games. Zombies react just the way they did in past RE's. they are BULLET SPONGES and always have been. The J'avo behave nearly identical to what they were in 4/5. they stagger with a leg shot, they drop there weapons with an arm shot, they flinch back with a head shot and they sometimes do nothing with a body shot JUST LIKE THEY DID IN RESIDENT EVIL 4 AND 5. The shooting itself feels fine. enemies react how they should, weapon sounds are meaty and the feedback is great now that theres actual recoil.

1) Play it again. The motives of those unleashing Biohazard were clearly portrayed.
Terrible Ending? LOL, do you even remember RE1's/RE2's Endings?

2) Horrible Characters? But I thought you listed 4? = more than all other RE games? (also opinion)

3) Turn it OFF. As for gameplay elements, those weren't even available before.

4) You just never got what Biohazard was since its birth. The first game had a Live Action opening for Christ's sake, and Nemesis.

5) Exactly like the awesome classics. And lol "doesn't affect gameplay that much".

6) 3rd best selling Resident Evil game already, without even its 1st revision.

I'm only about halfway through Leon's campaign and haven't played the others yet.

I've been a massive Resident Evil Fan since day 1. I've played and beaten all the Numbered games backwards and forwards. REmake is one of my favorite games ever made. I loved RE5.

I'm having fun with RE6 and when all is said and done I'll probably be able to say I enjoyed myself. But a large part of that will be that I was back in a world that I love mixing Red and Green herbs and listening to ridiculously over-the-top dialogue.

That said, from what I can see so far, the game has its share of problems, the worst of which is the mechanics. Shooting Zombies can be a downright chore. The Melee combat is clunky as all hell. The game suffers from pretty consistent camera issues.

All in all, I can see people, who might not be diehard fans of the series, having issues with it. Even fans of the series might have a problem with the extremely streamlined approach. It has its share of problems

If you like the game, it shouldn't bother you that others don't. Its not like their not gonna make another one after 5 million in sales (tho below expectations).
