Is it safe to put your debit card on the PS Store to make purchases?

#1HakuMan111386Posted 2/13/2013 6:05:22 AM
Or should I continue making trips to buy just the PS Cards with store credit on it? I've read that the debit card doesn't always automatically deduct the money from your checking account when making PS Store purchases? Is it safe to use or is it better to just buy the cards instead of debit? Is it useful? Thanks. Also, what's the cap for having money in your PS Store account?

People will just suggest to keep buying the card to avoid putting any of your personal info on there.

Use debit, remove card details when done.

I've used mine for the past 5 years with no problems. I think the cap is $150
No, John. You are the demons.
PSN = chuckyhacks

I have been and it's been fine for me this far. my only suggestion is to double check before you buy something since there is no "confirm to purchase" check

I had mine on their pre-hacking, and put it right back on there afterwards.

Never had an issue
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Here is what I did, I opened up a second bank account for online purchases I only keep 5 dollars on the psn card that i use and I just transfer how much money the game costs, so that way if my account gets hacked they can only charge 5 dollars due to how my banks over draft protection works.

Theres always a risk with any kind of E commerce.

That said, even with the "big hacking" of psn 2 years ago, not a single credit card number was stolen, so there really isn't any history of anyone ever being stolen from.

I've had my card on PSN for nearly 3.5 years. No problem so far.

If you're paranoid about it like some people are, use the card but don't store the details on there
