Anyone else get the 1/100 scale model made by Kotobukiya? It seems pretty cool, I received mine yesterday, and plan to start building tonight. Great timing coming out just before Rising. Only problem is that there isn't a word of English in the directions, but the diagrams use numbers, so it should be fine.

Yes, it has to be painted. It is 600 pieces, plus mini Snake, Liquid, and Grey Fox(2 versions).

....then again, I have a 2 and 5 year old, and I'm terrified of what would become of him.

That is awesome. But the idea of building it myself just seems so cool.

Kotobukiya models almost always need to be painted and come with about 500 more parts than the average kit (Gundam kits by comparison sake since they are both mechs) Gundams tend to be about... 1-250 parts depending on the scale, Kotobukiya are almost always around the 450-700 part range, grey parts that is needing to be painted and are considered for advanced builders.

Even their Armored Core and Virtual On line are like that, being said, their quality once done is down right effing amazing.
