well... MS, can you play my blu-ray movies?

Exactly.

I do not know about anyone else, but I own a PS3 and I still do not use it to play Blu-Ray movies. I just use a stand alone player to put less wear and tear on the YLOD prone device.

Actually, honest question here.

What can the 360 do media/entertainment wise that the PS3 can't?

Lot more apps and channels. Little history lesson but netflix started on 360 and while MS continues to expand Sony continues to copy.

Little bit of a correct history lesson, Netflix started their streaming on PC back when the N64/PS1 was out, meaning MS wasn't even in the Video Game Industry yet, and was still a company even before that just delievering DVDs. You act like Netflix owes its success to MS lol o.o Like all companies they try to expand their business. They streamed on 360 before Ps3, so? They were a giant and the main video source before that.

Blu-ray movies are so expensive still. I rarely buy them.

Why is that? Massive licensing fees or something?

You must not have an hdtv if you do not buy bluray.

Blu-Ray is an extra 2.

In this day and age, it simply isn't logical to purchase DVD's anymore.

Some people would just rather netflix or redbox a blu-ray if they only want to watch it once. It is kind of silly filling a shelf with thousands of blu-ray disks.

It's not silly for collectors. Or those that enjoy the extra features on discs.

Meh, depends what you're using as criteria I suppose. 360's content is better presented, I'll give them that, but honestly the 360 has been coasting off initial success. MS seems far less focused on the games as opposed to when they 1st launched the 360. But it is the entertainment console of choice in the US, #s don't lie =/

That said, my 360 gathers dust while my PS3 gets the play time. BluRay is great, streaming is convenient and cheap, but BluRay beats it in quality, simple as that.

At the end of the day it's simply MS trying to downplay sony again, especially in face of sony's supposed PS4 reveal next week. Sony is apparently going all in with their new console. It's about time. Wish they went all in with the Vita as well

More like....

Because MS saw that PS3 SOLD MORE Than their 360 so they start getting butthurt.

Microsoft has nothing to promote so they just bash the competition to deflect the conversation away from their own inadequacies.
