ViceGaga posted...You could start a game under one PSN name and for whatever reason, maybe you were sick of people nagging you so you could take your save file and copy it to another PSN name and continue on your journey? I specifically remember doing this.. Now you can't even copy! Is there a reason for that or is it just another pointless rule to complicate your life? Seems like instead of less rules and more convenience as technology moves forward, its the other way around!
I remember needing it in order to get a number of trophies that didn't get synced during the APOCALYPS3. If it wasn't for the ability to copy data to another account I would never have gotten those trophies and the platinum, all because of a stupid syncing issue.
But yeah you are right about technology going backwards for us consumers. Companies are getting pretty cocky and use piracy as a scapegoat so that they can enforce certain things that make them more money and give them more power over what we do.
It's pretty sad to see the incredible lengths the companies go to prevent hacking of their hardware and at the same time limit and inconvenience everyone more and more with all kinds of stuff.
The most recent stupid decisions:- Nintendo region locking a handheld for the first time.
- Sony limiting PS3 and removing features
- PS Vita having no separate save data for Vita games and having to use a transfer tool in order to move stuff from and on your memory card.
- DRM, especially always online DRM.
It is
because those companies try so hard to prevent piracy many people actually start to pirate. Even if you buy a legit copy it is often better or easier to just play a pirated copy!
