The Xbox and PC versions are gorgeous, in my opinion at least. Worst? I second Sonic '06. Some individual designs are okay, but when they're mixed together the look horrible.
Sand_Coffin Posted 2/16/2013 11:24:25 PM	Even though its an older game: Xenosaga Episode II. Especially since they had a different look in 1 and then went back to it in 3. For this gen: the 3rd Ar tonelico. The art change compared to 1 & 2 (which had the same look) was downright terrible. Star Ocean: The Last Hope. The characters looked like dolls. Dragon Age II. Elves, Darkspawn, enough said.

All DBZ games, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon, and Dragon Quest games have a great art direction. Largely because Akira Toriyama is a kick ass artist. Mario is more surreal art. It's not meant to be taken seriously, if you take it seriously, you just don't get it. All Zeldas aside from Skyward Sword have amazing art direction, and even then, Skyward Sword isn't that bad. All the Metroid games as well. Yes, even Other M. The JRPGs... well, depends. Some JRPGs have an astoundingly good artistic design. Xenosaga, Xenoblade, and the older FF's, for instance. But then you get into post FF6 FF, and delve into Nomura territory of Square's art design, that's when you hit the crap. KH alone has some of the worst art design in gaming history, and don't even get me started on how bad TWEWY is from an artistic point of view. That's not to say that any of those JRPGs I listed are any good.
