Most traumatic experience from a game?

#11rwfan2cPosted 2/18/2013 4:13:57 AM
When i was about... 10ish i still had not got into Horror movies. And the most Traumatic experience in my childhood was when i was 4 years old my Step Father took me on a Haunted house ride at a local amusement park and the messed me up as for scary things for quite a while.

When i was around 10 i watched my new Step dad (Yes i know... my mom married alot.) play through Resident Evil on the PS1 and it was scary as hell to me at the time. However i could not stop watching, and that experience not only helped me develop into one hell of a big Horror movie fan, but it also made Survival Horror games my games of choice for many years to come.

On a side note.. even as a fan of Survival Horror i was never able to play through the Original Silent Hill until i was in my Mid Teens, That game scared the crap out of me. Ironically i actually played through Silent Hill 2 in its entirety before i ever touched Silent Hill 1.

Labyrinth on Commodore 64. The way the game could completely screw you and throw you randomly around the game, when you're expecting to progress.

The dracula bit in quackshot. Scared the hell out of my 4 year old self.

Or losing my level 90 Pokemon team when I unknowingly traded them to a fake ruby cart and the save file deleting.

I can't think of one, so I'll share one from a movie. Loved the movie, hated this scene:

Greatest movie ever. That's my least favorite scene though. And I actually no a guy that is scared to death of that film even though he's 25 now.

That doesn't scare me anymore, but this still does.

Something about Jim Henson and feathers that aren't yellow. God bless Big Bird.

I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.

Destruction Derby for the PS1. Didn't know what "Format" stands for. Chose to format the memory card with all my old saves.

Oh, and the Silent Hill demo disc from Metal Gear Solid.
