Let's put it to a poll before the reveal: Will PS4 surpass high end PC graphics?

Will Playstation 4 games have graphics better than current high-end PCs at launch? - Results (405 votes)
Yes. At launch and it'll only get better from there as developers optimize their games for PS4.
7.41% (30 votes)
Yes. At launch but will be overtaken as more powerful PC hardware comes out in a year or two.
15.31% (62 votes)
No. Not at launch but graphics will improve and catch up to/surpass today's PCs.
18.02% (73 votes)
No. Not at launch and graphics will never catch up to/surpass today's PCs.
59.26% (240 votes)
This poll is now closed.
Just for reference a high end computer that bridges the gap between budget($500-800) and ultra luxury($1200+ and up) gaming can be had for around $1000~ and output stuff like this in games that are out right now(both modded and vanilla versions):

with mods:

guild wars 2:

of course, take into account the compression of YT vids even at 1080p and add about 10-20% graphical clarity if you want to see it from the perspective of the gamer.

i'm going with 3... but it won't happen till after devs have really come to grips with the architecture and proper squeezing of the hardware which will happen well into the gen, say 3-4 years.
If console gaming is so cheap then why do I have to spend $600~ in order to play Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted 3 and Halo 3?

yes, anybody saying no is as delusional as the wii u fanboys.
When ps3 launched it was banned from export because the processor was so powerful. Tell me again about how powerful you gaming pc is.

No. We'll most likely see a lot of games on next-gen PlayStation run on high settings or so whilst the PC version still dominates with max settings.

"According to the specs, the kit has 8 GB of RAM and 2.2 GB of video memory. The CPU is listed as 4x dual-core AMD64 "Bulldozer" indicating that there will be eight cores total and the GPU is listed as an AMD R10xx. Also included is a 160 GB HDD, a Blu-ray drive, four USB 3.0 ports, two Ethernet ports, HDMI and optical output, and 2.0, 5.1 and 7.1 audio channels."

Nope, still below.

No, when the console is developed they used a Graphic card so say a year ago they setted on one, well this year new Graphic cards are coming out and before the PS4 can release the graphic is already outdated.

What I think they need to make is a Console with a easy to change Graphic card and HDD and release new Graphic card every year or two, to keep up with the PC.
