JRPG missing in the West, Legend of Heroes: Trails series.

This serie has a pretty unfortunate faith outside of Japan, first the serie was exclusively for PC which is not a platform that has a JRPG fan-base, then after some time it started getting released on PSP as well which is a platform that completly bombed outside of Japan and the Vita seem to be doing much worse than the PSP did back then.

Now the 6th installment The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash has been announced and that signaled that the serie is finally switching over to home consoles release and with the 6th installment coming to console, the other games seem to be getting a home console port over treatment with Trails in the Sky being already released and Trails of Blue on it's way to a release on 04/25/2013.

Now with the transition of the The Legend of Heroes: Trails series making it's way to the home consoles, the recent localization of the anime on DVD and Blu-ray as well as the 6th installment Trails in the Flash looking much more impressive and accessible to a wider audience, it's pretty obvious that it is the perfect time to finally release this game serie in the West, and that is also the perfect opportunity to do it especially since the JRPG drought has been going on for quite awhile now that the standards have been so much lowered that people will buy anything JRPG, as such JRPGs that would have bombed if released only three years ago are doing modestly well now and JRPG that would have done well enough if released three years ago instead are doing extremely well now.

Well at Gamestop you can get a rubber ducky, a water gun, or a pirate sleeve Wii bundle.

Well I don't really know where you wer going with your post but I agree these games are excellent and I'm really hoping the series comes to consoles. Trails in the Sky is one of the best RPGs I've ever played...I'm looking forward to the sequel finally being localized.

Why? Because **** you is why.

Uh.. We got Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky in the west. Though I do agree that more games in the series should be localized.

Yeah a realtively unknown game outside of Japan from a series of 5 released exclusively for a dead console, that'll work...

My post was to reflect how things have changed since Q2 2011 (clear apparent chronic JRPG drought, failure of the Sony handhelds outside of Japan, obvious lowered standards of JRPG consumer base, transition from handhelds to home consoles of the serie etc.) and how these changes have made things favorable to tap unto the untapped potential of this JRPG serie.

Natsume and NIS America seem to have caught up with the fact that the winds have changed.

Your best hope is for Xseed to give the series to a bigger publishing company. We won't be seeing SC for awhile. And we need to play SC, TC, Zero, and Ao to get the full picture. We won't be seeing Flash for a long time if we are lucky. At this rate with Xseed it won't be localize until 2020 or beyond. By then the PS3 would be completely dead and Vita would probably be dead too.

It sold 71 million units worldwide as of September 2011. The Japanese figures were only 20 million as of late 2012.

That's not a bomb by a long stretch.
