Well, they did UMD Passport concept with PSP to Vita in Japan, I guess they using that for rest of the world now...

TBH, the system should be able to recognize that you have a specific disk in, and then be able to stream that specific game to the console, rather than read the disk itself. I doubt it does this because they couldn't resell you your games again, but its one solution.

Please explain to me how an x86 processor is supposed to emulate the cell instruction set.

Only way to do this would be to drop a PS3 system in the PS4.
