PPPPLAASSUMAPosted 2/21/2013 5:30:57 PM | I have always hated FFX. It sucks. FFXIII is not much better though. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtxCr5ju2EE&feature=related - If you played Mystical Ninja 64, you need to click this. |
UltimaXOmegaPosted 2/21/2013 5:31:35 PM | FFX is the best FF game. --- The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic-Joseph Stalin Official God of the Uchiha the legendary Madara Uchiha of the UNS3 boards |
KonkquinPosted 2/21/2013 5:36:42 PM | AceSpades02 posted...Linearity is fine as long as the game offers plenty of things to do to mix it up a bit, as well as an interesting plot to keep players motivated.
FFXIII fails to accomplish either of these however, since the one and only optional task outside the story is to "walk there and kill that" over and over again (which is essentially what your already doing in the main game anyways).
This on top of a lackluster story, a bland cast with little to none character development, and gameplay that virtually plays itself overall makes FFXIII an extremely tedious experience with very little to offer besides pretty graphics. FFX on the other hand is an excellent game (with a few flaws of its own) and manages to do all these things and more despite its linear level design. This. |
singhellotakuPosted 2/21/2013 5:44:27 PM | TC has a good point, but ffx still had towns, thats the main sticking point for me, in addition I really hated the battle system |

DeadSPosted 2/21/2013 5:47:18 PM | FFX is probably the worst Final Fantasy.
Don't even mind the game the entire plot is linear. There's very little deviation, very few (if any) suprises, it was entirely predictable, and your main goal never once changed. Characters were annoying, really annoying. Battle system was broken (hello each Aeon having its own limit break that you could cycle). Even battles where you don't abuse the broken Aeon's, the battle system is essentially a slower version of ATB. --- "Through time, through space, it will never end." |

FFXIII had... Adamantium farming.
= / this i did not particularly enjoy farming in XIII |
