Why do people hate on FFXIII but love FFX when...

And about the battle system, I see no reason as to why it was better than FFX's battle system. Sure, it brought the ATB system back, but the battle were completely chaotic and hard to follow, especially due to the paradigm system. People also say that the character growth system was based on FFX's sphere grid. This may be so, but it was a fail version of it. With the sphere grid, you could at least choose your own path for a little bit. And you didn't have to wait for the story to progress to unlock more of the sphere grid.. The system in FFXIII (forgot the name..), however didn't give you ANY freedom in where to go at all. | |

Nostalgia, plain and simple. FFX was practically everyone's first PS2 game and the leap from PSX to PS2 blew them away. FFX is just as linear, but apparently that's FFXIII's flaw, not FFX's. Please. There's nothing wrong with FFXIII to warrant the insane hate it gets around here, but hey, this is GameFAQs. And if you ask me I actually prefer FFXIII over FFX. It should still be acceptable now. I still don't see what's wrong with a linear game. Not every game has to be, or lends itself to being an "open world" game, you know? It just seems like linearity is something a lot of people like to harp on in any game. | |

(who also looks too much like rinoa) check. the 'big guy' who likes to present himself as a nice guy, yet is really a racist ahole with a superiority complex and is another religious nut? check. goth chick with huge boobs? check. stereotypical 'cool old warrior' with an even more stereotypical dark past? check. the lion man who spends 75% of the game saying nothing and hating on tidus then changes his mind later on? check. the cliched hyperactive teenage girl? check. say what you will about 13's characters, but 10's were just ****ing awful outside of lulu, and seymour is quite possibly my most hated villain in the entire series. | |

X has a dumb story just as XIII does (same writer, director thats why) but the battle system allows you to swap in and out any of your total number of characters. And if any of them die, including the main, its not game over. So think about it this way: an 86 Camaro base line RS is a newer car than a 69 Camaro SS, technology wise. Wow, its getting so passe of people whom don't enjoy a game and think that because they think its horrible that nobody in their right mind can possibly enjoy it. These whiners and criers need to stop already and move on to games they like. Nobody likes a troll. I enjoyed X over XIII - big deal. My opinion. But am I gonna call anybody who differs with my opinion an idiot? As rhetorical as that question may be - the answer is a solid NO.
