Okay I'm a Sony fanboy but I couldn't keep my mouth shut.
Anyone feels that Sony didn't show us the PS4 console because they want Microsoft to go ahead making a decision on whether they will go digital only or with game media?
In other words bluffing?

If Microsoft going with digital only, Sony will announce that PS4 will have bluray drive that is compatible with PS 123 and it's end of the competition.
If Microsoft going with physical media Sony will just conveniently said the same, no loss.

Why do you think they have dualshock 3 ready but not the console? I think that is the reason.
The pic of DS4 that is spreading on the net few days ago, now thet it's confirmed to be real, if you look at the back, it's clearly the PS4 console, no reason not to show it to us now. Maybe they want to hide the bluray drive or other media.

Same reason why they didn't announce the price tag.
Sony will go second or maybe third on E3 press conference as usual and that will gave them good position on the race.

I wouldn't call it a conspiracy, but they didn't reveal 3 things.

1. Price of the console
2. Specs of the CPU
3. Specs of the GPU.


I'd say they're waiting for MS to throw down, and may even have a few possible options for hardware, all which will affect price.

Sure, there's a 'possible change' thing, but given that they're clearly listing DVD and Blu-Ray readability, as well as the CPU/GPU specs, I'd say they're pretty certain.

And why don't they announce the PS4 during E3 press conference, then? Why now?
It's clearly smart move putting bait, open own cards so that the competitor have to make a decision which either is good for them.
Now up to Microsoft to decide and whatever moves they make, there only two outcome, draw or lose, well ignoring the possibility that their hardware is much more advance, though. That's what Microsoft can do trying to win the race but then Sony can easily upgrade their spec as well at this stage I think... No CPU or GPU spec.

They're general "ball park" system specs. No specifics, as I said. No speed of the CPU, no speed of the GPU

Because Microsoft is revealing the next Xbox at their conference, so Sony has the jump on them.

Every knows the PS4 exists already, we have the specs. E3 will be dedicated to the console, price, and games.
