I've been asking around here in gamefaqs the past couple of weeks whether I should buy a ps3 at this time or wait for the ps4, or ignore sony altogether and buy a 3ds. The responses were really helpful. After weighing our options my wife and I bought a ps3. We also bought Ni no Kuni and Star Ocean: Last Hope (avid RPG fans). We're quite ecstatic with our purchase as this is our first console (been emulating old console games on pc).
Anyway, enough with our boring life story. Can you guys suggest good W/JRPG and any game that the two of us can enjoy, I know it's vague but I just can't put my finger on it. Thank you~
Tales of Graces f
Persona 3 FES(PS2 classic though)
Hyperdimension Neptunia(Start with mk2 or Victory though)
If you don't mind SRPGs then get Disgaea 3 and 4
..and if you like Action RPGs you can try out stuff like:
You might be interested in something like Resonance of Fate as well.
If you're not going to share with the entire class, then don't bother sharing at all.
Well not everyone likes these but since you both have PS3s you can play coop in them WKC2(comes with 1), Scared 2, and Two worlds 2 they're all 15$ or less.
Edit: Also Demon souls and Darks souls said above are co-op too. Tales of Graces f is co-op too but only split screen and in battles only.
Very emotional. I literally fell into tears with some of the scenes.
No need walkthrough guide [Linear & no missables].
Don't see guide or any form of spoilers or else it'll spoil the game.
The main point of the game is the heavy emotions from unpredictable plots.
A must buy even though the characters looks ugly.
Trust us. The game's emotional factor is a gem.
Tales of Graces F
Pretty fun combat like Star Ocean.
An RPG with one of the best stories.
It has a pretty long story with twist and turn every moment.
There's good character development.
The story progression where you play them as children and grow up is rewarding.
The game's story makes you feel very anticipated.
Ar Tonelico: Qoga
This game is pretty unique in their design concept [Enter dreams].
It has one of the best plots through progression.
There's good deal of emotions in this RPG.
Heavy plots and story that makes us feel anticipated.
Combat gameplay is fun like Star Ocean too.
The game gives lots of life lessons.
Also even though they aren't really RPGs Yakuza series it's has RPG elements in it, lots of minigames to enjoy, beat em up combat and a story.
Edit: Also nobody has said Valkryia chronicles it's a SRPG but has a hybrid system if you watch a gameplay video of it you'll see what I mean.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires technically counts. You can make a character and write their story as warrior in 3 Kingdoms era china. Comes out in the US this coming tuesday,
Sengoku Basara for the new Toonami Block, spread the word.
I really like Dragon Age, Ni No Kuni, Demons Souls and Tales of Graces F.
NP: Ocarina of Time 3D, Ni No Kuni and P4Arena
of recent stuff:
Dark Souls/Demon Souls
Disgaea 3 or 4
Tales of Graces F
Dragon Age (not 2 it's bad)
and I would say Ar Tonelico Qoga, BUT if you can get the other 2 PS2 games, both are better IMO, 2 is my favorite GOA by a mile.
Atelier Arland Games (if they're your thing, I love them tbh lol)
HDN series is niche but really good
Sakura Wars (if you have a wii, also available for PS2 iirc, not sure if its on PSN)
Older Stuff: (PS2 stuff, not sure what is or isnt on PSN)
Dark Cloud 1&2 (2 is amazing)
Okami (if you dont want HD)
Atelier Iris games
Ar Tonelico 1&2
... I know theirs a ton I'm forgetting and its shameful that I am >.>
Also not an RPG but, R.A.D. This game is amazing and I push it everywhere I can.
