So, I've been thinking on getting a new console...the PS3 being one of my options. Thing is, there are so many models I don't know which one I should get.
I've heard you can play PS2 on the Fat model...but you can get a blue/yellow (don't remember the color) light of death if...eh...ehem, I can also get a Fat model for $40-$80 less (than a S-Slim/Slim model) in Amazon. I've also heard that the Fat model consumes a lot more energy...
The slim model is...ugly...so I may not even consider getting that (you COULD change my mind, though)

Opinions, please?

Slim.

Lower failure rate than fat and PS2 games play and look much better when played on another platform.

Although I miss my fats card slots and extra USB ports

Remember, not all fat consoles are created equal, meaning not all of them include Playstation 2 backwards compatibility. Be sure to do your research ahead of time. In addition, the likelihood of finding the backwards compatible model NEW are very slim, and both used or refurbished versions of them will still be susceptible to the Yellow Light of Death.

If you still have a Playstation 2, use that and get yourself a slim.

...Woah...didn't know that.
I'm in a budget, though...so I can't buy a PS3, some games AND a PS2...

Not for me. Anorexic and F..."Phat"? PS3 look a lot better to me.
I haven't considered durability, though...

I would suggest not to worry about PS2 compatibility or buying any PS2 games then. It's unlikely (nearly impossible) that you'd find a new BC model PS3, and any used or refurbished one has a pretty good chance of dying fairly quickly. I would only recommend buying a separate PS2 if you really want to play PS2 games.

I'd personally just go for the newest model PS3 if I were you.

Oh...I see...thanks.
So, no Fat model, then. Seems like the Slim model is winning the poll...is the anorexic model SO bad?
