How long will you hang on to your PS3?

I'm not sure on if I'm going to get a PS4 on launch or maybe even wait as much as a year to get it. All I know is that I am hanging on to my PS3. It'll be two years in June since I got mine, and I've been very happy with it.

For the longest time, I kind of kicked myself for getting rid of my PS2, but as it turned out, almost all of my favorite PS2 games are either in the Classics section on the PSN Store, or have been (or will be) remastered in HD. I think because of this, along with the good games I already have (and the many more PS3 titles I am looking forward to), I really don't have any reason to not keep my system, and have it for the foreseeable future.

How about you?

I'll keep it I guess. I probably won't buy a PS4 though. I may just go totally handheld and past consoles from now on.

I'll be keeping mine until it breaks. Not sure I'll even get the PS4. Might just go with the Wii U and Ouya aside from my old systems.

It's not really a money issue with getting a PS4 at launch. It's just that I'd rather wait awhile for the game library to get bigger, and maybe for any performance issues with the system to get ironed out, if there are any.

Plus like I said, I'll be busy with enough games as it is right now, and probably for another year or two easily.

I have no plans on buying a PS4, so probably a good 5 years at least or until I get a YLOD.

Heh. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like quite a few people just are not interested in the PS4. Either that, or they will wait quite awhile before getting one.

Is there an average of how long a PS3 lasts? I'm sure it depends on the models and how much usage it gets, but I'm just wondering if there is an average time frame.
