squall1981Posted 2/26/2013 4:24:22 PM | i never buy consoles at launch anyway, they generaly have big glitches/bugs. i will wait a couple of years until a 2nd or 3rd model comes out and the game libray is big and cheap. that way i will never run out of games for years.
only bought my ps3 18 months ago still havent played any unchartered/mass effects/ assasin creeds/ batmans etc --- trolls and fanboys are the same just working on different ends of the spectrum. |

2NIKNIMPosted 2/26/2013 4:28:09 PM | Forever but that is the collector in me.
As for the PS4, that will be a launch day purchase. --- Purveyor of pixelated pornography since 1984 http://cdn.list25.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/aboss.gif |
djrudenPosted 2/26/2013 4:30:03 PM | This is up to the PS3 itself. I'll keep it around until it completely dies. |
squall1981Posted 2/26/2013 4:31:27 PM | if mine died i reckon i would just buy another PS3, even if i had no backlog its virtually guarenteed there will be far more ps3 game releases than ps4 games over the next 18-24 months. --- trolls and fanboys are the same just working on different ends of the spectrum. |

ZeroSkyPosted 2/27/2013 12:54:35 PM | Considering that I just ordered my first ever PS3 on Monday, which should arrive tomorrow, I will definitely be hanging onto it for a while. But I don't get rid of game consoles in the first place. If I enjoyed games on it, there is a high probability I will want to go back and play them again some time. Every old console I own (lots of Nintendo stuff, as well as my PS1 and PS2) is still connected through a large pile of A/V switches, with the exception of my Atari 2600. But I still have that around, and could easily dig it out if I needed to.
I never understand the "this console was awesome, but a new one is out now, so time to get rid of it" mindset. I know some people trade games in when they finish them, regardless of how much they enjoyed it, but I absolutely will want to replay games down the road if I enjoyed them. I just hope these disc-based systems hold up for a while, when years down the road I want to dig out some old PS2 or Xbox 360 game for a nostalgia fix. |
