WTF happened to the Survival Horror genre? The only good survival horror I can think of this gen is Dead Space, and maybe Alan Wake (but it didn't really feel like horror). There is almost nothing else. Silent Hill Homecoming sucked, RE6 was terrible and disappointing.

Last gen we had:
Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil REmake, Resident Evil 4 <----all amazing survival horror games (honorable: Siren, Fatal Frame)

PS1 era we had:
Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Dino Crisis <-----all amazing survival horror games (honorable: Alone in the Dark, Clock Tower)

WHAT HAPPENED?

Just give me a ****ing RE2 REmake on PS4 Crapcom....

That's not true. Just look at how many are coming to PC. Just because the genre will never see CoD numbers doesn't mean it isn't profitable.

It's also pretty unfair to suggest that when the last amazing horror games we had were REmake and Silent Hill 3, and both of those sold well.
I'm sure if Downpour wasn't a average and buggy pile of crap it would have been well received too.

I don't believe any horror game has sold well, that's exactly what the problem is. If you had the choice of making $100,000 or $1,000,000 for a similar amount of effort, what would you choose? It's also why survival horrors are being casualized for a wider audience. Actiony Resident Evil games make more money than ones that you have to work at to survive. Can you imagine the response of the majority of gamers nowadays if they re-implemented limited saves?

There was a rumour about Hideo Kojima wanting to do a Silent Hill game. Let's hope for that.

REmake sold extremely well, and that was only on one console. And no, I wouldn't want to make a game designed to sell millions of units. I'd rather make a smaller game that I was proud of and that could still be profitable with a small amount of sales.

I thought Downpour was pretty creepy, especially the heart side quest.
