Worth getting a PS3 in 2013, or should I just wait for the PS4 to come out?

I heard the PS4 won't be backwards compatible anyways, so I am really missing out on a lot by not buying a PS3?

Well, they said you'd be able to stream PS3 games on PS4 via Gaikai...

You're missing out on all the ps3 exclusives and content from the PSN as those wont appear on the new Network when ps4 launches. I mean there's Gaikai... If you don't mind laggy cloud gaming.

Which will work terriblely due to American (and Canada's) horrid internet.

Launch of the next gen is always the best time to buy the previous console. It's supply and demand at it's finest.

So basically, wait for the PS4 to come out then buy a PS3. Next buy crates of games at rock-bottom prices as people sell off all their stuff to buy the new console.

This actually works for any system. The PSP can be had for $99.00 new now and games are like $5-$10 a pop. So many games for nothing.

Yeah, I've been doing that since the snes days. Well, I don't wait that long to get each console, but I do snag a ton of games during each next-gen launch cycle.

Speak for yourself. I live in Canada (Quebec) and they're gonna offer unlimited internet in less than 2 months for just 10$ extra on your existing deal.

Considering my speed is god damn pretty fast, add unlimited bw, I am okay.

Still gonna keep my ps3 though. Like that service is even gonna be offered at launch anyway.

What I do like is that every PS4 games, like the vita, will be on PSN day 1.
