I really liked Syndicate, the colors and atmosphere were Perfect but I HATE level to level a to b games. if that game were open world with a focus on building up your gear and weapons, protecting turf from random attacks and going to war alongside your troops, I would never put it down. flying the air crafts and maybe engaging in air fights in the world would have been awesome as well....but instead, the game just feels short and shallow :(
what games do you wish were open world?
True Crime New York City for the Original Xbox is PHENOMENAL.
I guess it would be interesting to see a Deus Ex / cyberpunk style open world game. It seems that Cyberpunk 2077, which I'm massively hyped for, is going to be that game.
To be honest though, I prefer games that are open but aren't quite open world, if you know what I mean. Basically, I like more focused exploration, where you are restricted depending on what power-ups / abilities / items / etc. you have and/or gradually open up new areas as the game progresses, e.g. in the Deus Ex games and most Metroid games.
