So, who bought TOMB RAIDER?

The original TR puzzles weren't challenging, just time consuming. Running all over the area to grab this piece, then run all the way back to put in place, then run around to the next piece, etc. People should stop acting like the old games had these impossible puzzles to solve. I feel like over time people tend to remember things different from the truth so it helps them argue meaningless points.

Finished it.

Great game.

Scott, I disagree with you on the puzzles being mostly platforming, unless you're counting moving back and forth between the puzzle elements "platforming", but why would that be a complaint? Would you rather the character model stay transfixed on the spot, and move nowhere to do the puzzle? Not having a go, just disagreeing btw.

I never said the puzzles were platforming. I said the tombs were mostly regular platforming sections, with the odd puzzle room thrown in.

When you play the new one, you still have all the crazy platforming, and you get the occasional puzzle room. The only real difference the meat of the gameplay feel, is that you're not constantly stuck in caves.

Not all night, but it did hook me so I just wanted to keep going. Now when my 360 copy comes, i'll just blitz it.

Ahhh it was the PC version you beat, no wonder then. I thought you'd got your 360 copy, started it up, and beat the lot between my sleep and waking up! lol

As for the DmC comparison, I'm still not getting it. People hated on that from the get-go, purely on the aesthetics of it. Absolutely nothing to do with gameplay. They labelled it a failure because of how it looked and nothing more, and it's those idiots I called out.

Some people yes, but DMC does have some legitimate major changes to the story. Also the combat in 1-4 is complex in the way Tomb Raider had complex puzzles. Both are simplified. You're upset more though because you're a fan of the classics

Yes, but as I just told you, my attack was on those saying, "Oh the story is stupid, omg they changed the way he looks... OH EM GEE!"

I rarely saw people attack the gameplay until it nearly released, and I never read enough about the gameplay from an official source to know if they'd dumbed it down or not. I'll never attack gameplay until I play a game myself anyway, nor do I condone those who do so.
