Best Dynasty Warrior style game from this gen?

The last DW I played and loved was 4. All I'm looking for is a million dudes on screen and my dude to mow through those dudes. There's just been so many of these things since 2004 that I have no idea where to begin. I'm open to anything out of the DW franchise also.

I won't complain if some recommended games aren't quite the same mission based one man army mowin' down enemies model as DW. Just so long as there's still an emphasis on wiping out as many things on screen as possible (Dead Rising I think fits as an example here.) I'm good.

Thanks in advance!

Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires, or Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, depending on your affinity for robots.

There are few things better than robots punching other robots with explosions.

Then you should go with Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, or Gundam 1, that one was good too.

Gundam 3 sucked though, don't get that one.

as a fan of the DW series since 3, check out Sengoku Basara.

its more character centered as in each character IS unique. the levels are more "anime" than DW, and there are a few less soldiers to kill. but it is a game to play if you like hack and slash style games like DW.

Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires is on PSN. I am waiting to see what goodies are releasing on PSN next week before I finalize my DW7: Empires purchase.

I DO have Warriors Orochi 3, though.

To date, the only DW games released here in the U.S. that I haven't played is "Dynasty Warriors NEXT" and "Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires".

What kind of suck, if you don't mind my asking? Is this like DS4 to 5 in that it's just change and whenever that happens you're bound to find those in favor of it and others not so much? Or is this a bewildering complete downgrade kind of deal?
