Oh you.

They're not bad games. They're very well designed, built and executed. They're just stale now. The series hasn't changed much since it's origin.

I'd say they're more tired than bad.

90% of the time that's the best bet. there are exceptions though. Obviously it's harder with games because the latest entries normally look and play much better, but for something like Call of Juarez I'd actually recommend playing the prequel first, as something happens in the first game that is made all the more powerful by experiencing the prequel beforehand.

For GoW I'd personally play it GoW1, GoW CoO, then GoW2 and 3. There's a part in GoW2 (albeit a small one) that just never made sense until I played CoO.

And I still haven't played GoS yet, so I don't know where that fits in.

I'm playing GoS now and to me it seems to take place right after GoW 1 ends.

All PS3 owners should boycott Bethesda.

^Chronologically speaking, GoS does take place after GoW1 ends.

I played them like this:

1 - 2 - 3 - CoO HD - GoS HD

I would have said "in order of release" but I suppose CoO came out on PSP first, etc.

I loved every single one btw.

Play in release order. I don't understand why people bother asking this question. It's always release order. Games aren't created in a vacuum.
