Will I enjoy God of War if I'm an atheist ?

I'm not too much into Gods and religious stuff. Is it preachy, or is it good, mindless fun with a good story? Thnx

Most definitely. It doesn't even relate to modern day gods (unless you actually still believe in them 0.0), but on the other hand it involves a lot of god-killing and religion crapping moments.

From what I played (which is just God of War 1), it's not preachy at all. Just mindless killing and some puzzle solving.

No. Atheists are, for the most part, uptight and humourless (myself included). So a story where the Gods within are portrayed as real, tangible beings is a huge no-no.
