Final Fantasy 7 sure didn't age well

So I decided to download it yesterday because I was feeling nostalgic and man does it look ugly. It's like everyone's made of legos. And the sound is like so loud man. I remember feeling like it was the best thing ever but now it's like the worst thing ever.

Yeah you're right. It does still play well and it does have a great story. But other than that it feels really terrible playing it. Such a shame too.

The graphics definitely hold it back.

Particularly the inconsistency in cutscenes, when you start to see lego cloud in CGI scenes..... eesh.

But again, that's only visuals.

Videogames do not age. They look, sound, and control the exact same way as when they were released.

FINAL FANTASY VII was a technical marvel back then.

That is why FFVII is so highly requested to be remade with current or next gen graphics.

But, we all know that wouldn't happen any time soon. For now, play the PC version with bootleg. It's HD and used custom made character models and improved textures for world map and such.

The graphics looked bad in 2001, but any truly great game will always be a great game. It still has great gameplay, fantastic music, atmosphere and a good story with one of the more interesting worlds created in the final fantasy universe.

3 day old car parts don't smell as bad as you might think.

9 aged the best out of those 3, seeing as how the graphics were some of the best of that generation and it was balanced more meticulously than the other two. 7 was good and mind-blowing when it came out, but any kid nowadays'll laugh at you if you insist that this was one of the best Playstation games a decade and a half ago. Time hasn't been nice to the likes of Mario 64, either.
