An important question for Metal Gear Solid fans

It's canon, but Kojima and the staff like it about as much as we do, which gave rise to that little "now we can leave all that crap in San Hieronymo behind" line from Kaz in Peace Walker.
Apparently, I'm Nomura now. Not quite sure how that happened. *laughs*

It is canon, but it can easily be ignored.

I guess it was kind of cool seeing Campbell step onto the stage, and knowing where Frank Jaeger came from...but apart from that I didn't really take much away from the plot.

P.S. I voted no even though the answer is yes :P
Why? Because **** you is why.

It's canon, but its more of a sidestory you don't really need to know.

It's worth playing though.

Kojima said it's canon sooo.

At the start of PW Miller says "Finally, we can leave all that crap in San Hieronymo behind...", and that's good enough for me.
Why do I even bother?

Yes. It is mentioned in other games. But only briefly, so as someone else said, it's easy to ignore if you choose to.

More importantly, it's also a great game. Not quite as good as Peace Walker, but there are some things that PO does better. Namely; actual human bosses, playable unique characters, less repetition, and IMO better stealth.
PW wins for fixing the monotony of recruitment in PO and for adding a lot of content. They're both among the best games on PSP.

Some parts are canon, some parts aren't. So... hard to say.

PO to MGS is like Blue Shift is to Half Life: its canon for now but can easily be retconned
