This game is complete garbage, on master ninja it's all about sheer luck as you try to spam UT over and over against the alchemists. All the higher level enemies don't allow you to combo them at all, even if you land a counter blow, they just block, roll away then instaspam fireballs that instantly kill you.
Far cry from NG1 and 2 that were hard but a fair type of hard.

Reusable Checkpoints
EDIT: Also you could cancel attacks into rolls |
