Milking of franchises is not inherently a good thing. Sure you get a couple of sequels you may enjoy, but after the same things over and over the magic is lost. And new IPs are sacrificed as resources are allocated to sequels.

If I like a series then I want to see more of it; if it has grown stale for me then I can ignore it and its fans can continue to support it as they see fit.

The "milking" of a series has no adverse effect on my gaming.

The term milking seems to carry a negative connotation from people who dislike series. If they dislike something they should simply ignore it and focus on the games they enjoy.

But this is gamefaqs and people who dislike a game or series are often the most vocal people in a topic about said game/series.

You listed the Atelier series but not Pokemon?

Coming from someone currently ev training his BW2 team and eagerly waiting X/Y, even I think they're milking it.
